We came to live on the island permanently in 1993, after owning the property since 1989 as a holiday home, although my family has had an association with the area since the 1940’s.
This a special place to live and it gets into your soul – the birdlife in and around our garden is phenomenal. The dawn chorus amazing and I love seeing the bellbirds hanging off the bottlebrushes outside our kitchen window.
I have been involved with the island through work, Residents Association and co-ordinating activities involving the Community Hall.
I have been a trustee since the Trust’s formation in 2004 and my hope is that with the eradication of stoats, our birdlife and the wellbeing of the Island will continue to grow so that in the future we will see some of the threatened species return for generations to enjoy.
