Originally from Germany/Austria, the Korinth family moved to New Zealand at the beginning of 2008 and bought a sheep and cattle farm on Rangitoto ki te Tonga/D’Urville Island in 2010. When our children finished college in Kāpiti, we decided to make the island our permanent home.

When I was asked to become a trustee by Pip Aplin and Oliver Sutherland in 2015, I was glad to accept and to hopefully make a small contribution to preserve the beauty and diversity of my “adopted” homeland.

My dream is one day to be able to say: “I live on Rangitoto ki te Tonga, where Kiwi feel as much at home as I do.”
