Rangitoto Birdsong Trust changes

There have been some changes to the Trust in the last months. Many of you will, I’m sure, know of the sad death in February of Trust Co-Chair Pip Aplin. We miss Pip’s wisdom, his vibrant personality and his experience very much. Jeanette Aplin remains a valued member of the Trust. Oliver Sutherland (pic above) has resigned as Chair (he remains a Trust and Governance Committee member) to focus on his significant contribution to the Royal Commission of Inquiry into Abuse in Care, and Rupert Wilson, a land owner in Moawhitu, has taken over this role. Guy King who, with his family has farmed on the Island for many years, is now the Trust’s Deputy Chair.

We are actively seeking new, and younger, members of the Trust to help maintain our enthusiasm and energy and are very lucky to have Caroline Webber Palmer (Ngati Koata) join the Governance Committee. Caroline grew up at French Pass and retains many of her close connections to the Island.
