Project Manager Andrew Macalister led a successful two-day TAG meeting at French Pass in September. One of the days was held on Rangitoto ki te Tonga/D’Urville Island looking at the conditions and varied terrain to be negotiated during the eradication. The Technical Advisory Group has been active since June on various matters and these meetings together with the September get together and field trip has contributed to the development of an updated Operations Plan.
Attendees were Al Bramley (ZIP) and Andrew Veale (Manaaki Whenua Landcare Research). Dave Butler was unable to attend for health reasons and the DOC rep, Nick Poutu, was unfortunately unavailable due to unexpected department Covid response work. Both provided written inputs. Briar Cook (ZIP) also attended. Trust Co-Chair Oliver Sutherland helped behind the scenes organising the meeting and Trust member Guy King provided invaluable local knowledge.
